Work and management experience

Jens Alsleben began his professional career in 1986 as an officer in the German Air Force and switched to business after 8 years. After working at Deutsche Bank as an assistant to the management board and M&A investment banker, he took on the role of shareholder and CFO at an embedded software company in 2002, for which he was able to successfully attract a private equity investor and oversee its international expansion.

From 2005-2007, he managed the German office of an American distressed fund and then moved to Hamburg to join H.I.G. Capital, an American private equity fund specializing in medium-sized investments. As a founding partner, Jens Alsleben was responsible for the fund's business development activities across Europe until his departure in 2019.

Jens Alsleben has been advising international executives on positive leadership and leadership ethics as a business coach and sparring partner since 2019. He is also a member of the supervisory board of Avedon Capital Partners (NL) and a member of the advisory board of Fintech Leverest (GER), in which he has also invested as a business angel.

Higher education

Jens Alsleben holds a degree in business administration (Helmut Schmidt University, Hamburg) and completed his Executive MBA at the renowned Hult International Business School in Ashridge (UK).

Volunteering

As Senator for Economics, Jens Alsleben works in the Senate on the 'Future of Work' commission and has chaired the 'Leadership' task force there. He is also a Paul Harris Fellow at Rotary.

Jens Alsleben is the author of two books, Stark im Sturm (Bourdon Verlag, 2022) and Deine Führungsreise zum Positive Leader (ePubli, 2021). He has published articles and columns in trade journals such as FINANCE Magazin, Anwaltsspiegel and Produktion. He is also a passionate podcaster (Rebellentalk, Lars & Jens verstehen die Welt nicht mehr) and regular interview guest in other podcasts, takes part in panel discussions, ClubHouse talks or live events and, as a trained thought refueling speaker, gives keynotes and lectures on the topic of positive leadership.

Coaching and positive leadership consulting

From 2014, Jens Alsleben trained as a person-centered consultant (GWG) for three years and worked on a voluntary basis with managers in high-stress situations until 2019. He has been doing this full-time since 2019. He is a systemic coach, executive business coach (MeylerCampbell), systemic business mediator (Akademie von Hertel), CliftonStrengths strengths coach and PERMA-Lead certified. He has now accompanied a three-digit number of leading people in their strengths orientation

Private

Jens Alsleben has been married to his wife Alexandra since 1993 and lives with her in Hamburg. His three grown-up sons live scattered around the world and, much to their parents' delight, all realize completely different concepts of life.
